System Backup
Hi Folks,
Let me tell you about an experience I had a couple of weeks ago. Seems that a trojan/worm infected both of my computers at the same time. One computer was so bad I was no longer able to see any applications on my desktop when I booted up. I spent almost 20 hours that weekend trying to fix the problem. Even Geek Squad was unable to repair my computer without a set of backup disc. Needless to say I was fortunate to have an HP laptop that included a system recovery drive. The bad part was I could not access the drive. When I contacted HP they helped me restore my system (2 hours later). Now here's the lesson I learned. Before my computer $h!t-the-bed I managed to save any software downloads that I purchased for my business (about $500 worth). By saving them onto a flash drive (about $20) I was able to recover my programs and files. I've decided at this point to keep all my software on these portable sticks in case I once again have to restore my system.
I'm a firm believer of backing up my system. Did you know that within your Cpanel you have the option to backup your website in the event the server crashes? The backup is sent directly to an email address you designate.
So remember to run your anti-virus program once a month and keep your important files on an external flash drive. The same holds true for your website. Backup your website after you've made extensive changes!
